Therapy for thoughtful people who struggle with self-doubt, overthinking, and people-pleasing in relationships.

You may be someone who thinks deeply about things and cares a lot about others, yet often finds yourself overthinking conversations, second-guessing your decisions, or worrying about being too much or not enough.
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, a harsh inner critic, and people-pleasing patterns that make it difficult to fully trust themselves in relationships.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, highly sensitive, or feel that their minds work a little differently than those around them.
Some identify as neurodivergent, while others simply know they experience the world more intensely.
In our work together, we slow things down, make sense of the patterns that shaped you, and help you build a more compassionate and confident relationship with yourself so you can express your needs and show up more authentically in your life and relationships.
• You tend to overthink conversations long after they happen and wonder if you said the wrong thing.
• You often second-guess yourself or look to others for reassurance in making the "right" decisions.
• You care deeply about others but struggle to express your own needs without guilt.
• You hold yourself to very high standards and struggle with perfectionism or a harsh inner critic.
• You find yourself people-pleasing or avoiding conflict in relationships.
• You feel deeply sensitive to your environment or emotions and can become easily overwhelmed.
• Social situations can feel draining because it sometimes feels like you have to “perform” or monitor how you're coming across.
• Develop a more confident and compassionate relationship with yourself.
• Learn to express your needs and emotions with greater clarity and ease.
• Quiet the harsh inner critic that fuels anxiety and self-doubt.
• Understand how your past experiences shaped the patterns you're navigating today.
• Set boundaries and navigate conflict without abandoning yourself.
• Feel less overwhelmed by anxiety and more grounded in who you are.
• Build relationships that feel more secure, authentic, and nourishing.
Therapy with Emily is a collaborative and reflective process. Her goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, and begin to understand yourself in new ways.
Clients often tell Emily they appreciate having a place where they feel truly seen and supported while also being gently challenged to grow. Together we look at how your past experiences shaped the way you relate to yourself and others, helping you connect the dots between old patterns and what you’re experiencing today.
Emily's approach is both insight-oriented and practical. We explore the deeper emotional roots of what you’re going through while also identifying tools and shifts you can bring into your daily life.
Over time, many clients find themselves feeling more clarity, greater self-compassion, and more confidence in expressing who they really are.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Many of the people Emily works with have spent years trying to understand themselves, reading, reflecting, and doing their best to grow — yet still feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or people-pleasing.
If you’re someone who thinks deeply, cares deeply, and wants to understand yourself more fully, therapy can be a powerful space to slow down, explore what’s beneath the surface, and begin creating new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Emily's hope is to offer a space where you feel genuinely understood, supported, and thoughtfully challenged as you move toward a more confident and authentic version of yourself.

Many of the people I work with have tried therapy in the past and felt like something was missing. Often, they’re looking for a space where they feel more deeply understood and where the work goes beyond surface-level conversations.
Therapy can look very different depending on the approach and the relationship you have with your therapist. My goal is to create a space where we can explore your experiences more deeply and help you make sense of patterns in a way that leads to meaningful change.

Rather than worrying about traffic during your commute or fitting therapy into your busy schedule, online therapy gives you the ease and flexibility you need to heal. Studies even show that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy.

The good news is, there are many wonderful licensed therapists in your area. The down side is, it can be difficult to decide who to work with.
Take your time to explore my website and get a feel for the work I do with my clients.
If you sense we might be a good fit, schedule a free phone consultation. During that call, you can ask me questions about my approach, what a typical session looks like, or anything else specific to your needs. Together, we will discuss how I can best support you.
First sessions are also a chance to get a feel for what it will be like working together. My style won’t be the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay—what matters most is that you find someone who feels right for you. I strive to make our therapy container one of safety, empowerment and trust.
No, I am currently only licensed to provide therapy across the state of New York. This means if you are a New York resident we can work together. If you are interested in coaching services and reside outside of New York, please contact me and we can discuss your options.
Yes. Many of the people I work with identify as neurodivergent or highly sensitive, while others simply feel that their minds work a bit differently. I take an individualized, non-pathologizing approach and aim to support you in understanding your needs and navigating the world in a way that feels more aligned.
